What to Expect

Visiting a church for the first time can be an unsettling experience. We want to make you feel at home with us at Riverview. We want you to experience inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and at home. Here are a few answers to questions you might expect on your first visit.

Finding Nurseries, Classes, and Services

Upon entering the doors of Riverview, a friendly greeter will be there to direct you to any of the classes for children or adults. Just ask and you will be guided accordingly. Should you have any nursery age children you will be led to our clean, well staffed nursery.  If you need help finding a seat in the service one of the ushers will gladly find a place for you.

What's here for my kids?

Starting with an excellent nursery, there is something special for every age child from birth through high school! At every service on Sunday morning there is a safe, clean nursery for children 3 years old and under. For children 4 years old through sixth grade there are fun, friendly, and Bible-centered classes. These classes are staffed with friendly and qualified teachers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child. We have a class specifically for teens as well.

What's the morning schedule?

There is a Sunday school hour followed by our morning worship service. Sunday School begins at 10:00 A.M. with classes for all ages. Our Main Service starts at 11:00 A.M. Children's ministries are available at each service.

What's on the schedule for adults, and what should I expect?

Our Main Service starts at 11:00 A.M. where everyone enjoys beautiful and inspirational music, and many specials by the members of Riverview. The music is always followed by a clear, helpful, and challenging Bible message from Pastor Brooks. This service is one hour in length. Also, at 11:30A.M. we have a Sunday School hour that will encourage and strengthen your children ages 12 on down.

How should I dress?

There is not a dress code at Riverview for members or for guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional "Sunday" dress; however, our main goal is for you to feel welcome and comfortable on your first visit here at Riverview Bible Baptist!

Are there services at other times?

Yes. We have a Sunday evening service (completely different from Sunday morning) that begins at 6:30 P.M. In this service you'll enjoy special music as well as a challenging and helpful message from Pastor Brooks. We also meet on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 P.M. for a mid-week Bible study. Kids Classes meet at 7:00 P.M. If you can't be our guest on Sunday morning, we hope you'll visit with us during another service time.

Am I expected to participate in the offering?

No. We don't invite you to Riverview Bible Baptist Church for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God's Word, and a place where you can grow in God's grace. Please don't feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.
